I don’t want to pick apart the voice-over guy in Streethawk, but surely he must have known that line was written as a joke . Even logistically, why would you need to hit 300mph in down town L.A? It would be like Rick Moranis going into ‘Ludicrous Speed’ in Spaceballs.
I digress. I believe it takes a certain level of fearlessness to ride a motorcycle, that’s why I never bothered. In fastidiously researching this article I chanced upon some cool profiles, each containing some awesome travel landscapes. I’ve dotted a few cool motorbike facts I’ve pulled off the net. Enjoy this one.

FACT: His character The Fonz may have been the epitome of cool but actor Henry Winkler couldn’t actually ride a motorcycle.

FACT: Pitt is a complete motorcycle devotee and is often papped out and about on his bikes; his collection includes a Ducati Desmosedici RR, Monster 696, Harley-Davidson choppers, BMW R1150GS Adventure, Triumph Bonneville and Yamaha R1 amongst others.

FACT: The first generally recognized motorcycle speed records were set unofficially by Glenn Curtiss, using aircraft engines of his own manufacture, first in 1903, when he achieved 64 mph (103 km/h) at Yonkers, New York using a V2, and then on January 24, 1907 on Ormond Beach, Florida, when he achieved 136.27 mph (219.31 km/h) using a V8 housed in a spindly tube chassis with direct shaft drive to the rear wheel.

FACT: In the opening scene of Skyfall, Bond chases baddie Patrice across the rooftops of Istanbul, both aboard Honda CRF250Rs. Stunt star Robbie Maddison did most of the riding although Craig did some. The two Hondas, incidentally, are now on display at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu.

FACT: Since late 2010, the Ack Attack team has held the motorcycle land speed record at 376.36 mph (605.69 km/h) using a custom-built V4 engine, alternated with the twin Suzuki. (Eat that Streethawk).
