WHO IS KASIA GAB

Kasia is a Polish creative photographer and fitness fanatic living in California. She is an emerging talent within both industries and we wanted to know a little bit more about her and her training regime. Click on her pictures and follow her journey on Instagram.

What’s the secret to getting a figure like yours and do you train other people?

No, I don’t train other people, but I do have a trainer. To enjoy a long and healthy life, everyone should make lifestyle choices that include a healthy diet, regular exercise and maintaining a normal weight level.

I started to exercise very early, at age 13. Already as a teenager, I was health conscious, eating healthy and exercising regularly.
There has never been a day where I’ve regretted working out. Throughout my entire life, I’ve gotten satisfaction, strength and confidence that has carried over into just about every other aspect of my everyday life.

Your body is a reflection of the decisions you have made in the past. Think of your body as a piece of artwork you work on every single day, and it will change the way you live. Be proud of your body because you deserve it!
The attitude one must possess however is to be highly focused, dedicated, disciplined and intentional about every decision you make, and every action you take. With everything you think, say and do, ask yourself, “Does this help me achieve my goal and is there an even better or more productive or more efficient way to do it?”

You’re workout regime? Does it change day to day?

Yes, changing it up is important. Life is cyclical, and our goals and our needs change fairly frequently. The same is also true of our relationships, our work, our education and of course, our training.

I started incorporating more weight training into my fitness regimen earlier this year when I decided that I needed to fill in some gaps in my development. The most important first step when choosing a training tool is to figure out what your goals are.

My goal at the beginning of this year was to gain some upper-body muscle. To put on muscle, I started doing weight training with a particular focus on shoulders, chest, and arms. So on one day, I concentrate on my upper body workout and the next day, my lower body workout to let the muscles rest, so that they have time to reconstruct (or recover) in stronger formations and increase in size.

What’s your secret for motivation?

Healthy people see exercise as a critical component of their long term health rather than something that they need to do in the short term to lose weight.  Not every healthy person has started their journey with this attitude.  Many people begin an exercise program with a short term goal and learn after time to appreciate all of the benefits it brings to their lives.  This new attitude helps them maintain their fitness level after their goal is reached.

I encourage everyone to devise their own personal fitness challenge. Try a spinning class, yoga, boxing or weight lifting. Just push yourself to step out of your comfort zone and see how you feel after one or two months.

Is fitness an addiction for you?

I wouldn’t call it an addiction, but it’s most certainly a big part of my life. I try to workout 4-6 days a week. Some weeks are busier than others, and although I don’t like skipping my workout session, I remind myself that it’s perfectly ok to miss the gym here and there. It’s always a good idea to keep your workouts fresh and exciting by mixing it up with a long walk or an outdoor hike.

What key piece of advice would you give to people craving to have a body like yours?

Staying consistent is the key, even when you really just absolutely don’t feel like it. Persistence does, in fact, pay off. Don’t wait until you’ve reached your goal to be proud of yourself. Be proud of every step you take toward reaching that goal. Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going. Feeling happier and healthier after each lift is an excellent start, and something I wish upon every one of you.

How much of your time is divided between art, photography, modeling and fitness?

Fitness and photography get the majority of my time. My work schedule doesn’t often permit me to do all of the other things that I enjoy doing, but I wake up earlier than most people would probably imagine so that I don’t miss my gym sessions. I don’t skimp on my sleep either, so time management becomes critical to make it all work.

Art is a way for me to relax and to express myself so instead of watching TV I may decide to indulge in painting for a while. My creative photography doesn’t actually require that I make time for it. I keep my camera with me all the time, and it’s just something that I do as I live each moment. Each scene, vista, look or angle of sight has the potential for a captured image and for saving that moment in time. And each image is the seed of a thought and the expression of an idea, or of a mood, or of an attitude. So I like the fact that each captured image has the potential to say even more by being preserved in stillness. Life just keeps happening faster and faster every day and freezing a moment in time is very satisfying for me. Photography is such a pleasure to me that it comes naturally and effortlessly. It is just so very important to me… I breathe through it.

As for my photography work-for-hire that too just becomes a function of keeping control of my schedule and managing my time.

One thing I would suggest to everyone too is that once you improve your skill at staying dedicated to your goals and committing to a routine, you will find that it becomes easier to keep it in your schedule and thus in your life. The ability to remain focused on an objective will spill over into every other aspect of your life. Then you will see that the process just comes together and you will recognize that your life not only has a flow and a pace and a rhythm to it but one that you love and one that nourishes you by supplying you with the ability to have what you want and to acheive your desires.

What type of cardio works best for you or is it a mixture? Swimming, Running, etc.

It is a mixture for sure. Jogging, running, stair climbing, power walking, biking, hiking are all my favorite exercises that get my heart rate up.

Lastly, how often do you get asked out in real life versus social media?

It is the same: constantly! Being a public figure on social media certainly makes the avenue of contact easier with the availability of communication features such as email and messaging and even with the posting of public comments. But I have to maintain a professional demeanor, image and attitude at all times and keep control of the tone, appearance and general feel of MY social media. So I do have to diplomatically balance my replies and responses to firmly demonstrate that my social media is not a one-woman dating site. Improper comments or over the top flattery is not consistent with the purpose of all of my social media which is quite simply in its most basic form to primarily encourage others to achieve their goals. But all social media is self-promotional by definition, so a certain amount of colorful or flirtatious banter takes places. I just won’t allow it to be taken out of context or to get out of control. I am happy to say that I have an amazing and wonderful fan base of regular or frequent supporters who are the best that I could hope to have. They don’t abuse the anonymity that app technology affords them, but rather they seem to willingly and gladly adhere to the unwritten code of common decency and courtesy in both the public comments and in private messaging.

When it comes to relationships, I believe that while no one can give 100 percent of their time to another person, they can, however, give 100 percent of their commitment to their partner. I also believe that love has a way of finding where it belongs and to whom.
