Episode 9 – FROM TAILORS WITH LOVE
This week Matt Spaiser and I talk about the two opening James Bond suits from From Russia With Love, the second dinner suit on Spectre Island and the Blue Navy suit Bond wears to meet M.
In Anything Bondian
Matt Spaiser talks about his new Goldfinger Hacking Jacket and Twill trousers from Mason & Sons.
I talk about my recent trip to Vienna location scouting from The Living Daylights. (I’ll do an extended blog on this at a later date. Below is a picture with the sweet shop owner Michael. The shop where Saunders and Bond hide out opposite the Volksopera).
In James Bond News
There is a new Tom Ford fragrance and Turnbull and Asser have released a series of evening shirts. I promised you a picture of my favourite Ruffles Shirt outside of the James Bond franchise and here it is. Welsh Snooker player Doug Mountjoy.
We had to cut it out of the show as I screwed up the description but costume designer Lindy Hemming won a Bafta.
There’s not much coming out of the Tom Ford news desk regarding Bond, but he has released a new fragrance. Lost Cherry.
In a new segment Matt and I pitch two menswear fashion houses who would be fit to take over from Bond’s tailor, Tom Ford should he denounce the throne.
You can see that clip for yourself here in the YouTube clip below.
I go for Paul Smith
Matt fights for Dunhill
Menswear Style are currently running a poll on this and there is still time to vote.
